What makes LAKA Matcha ceremonial grade?
LAKA Matcha Reserve is a ceremonial grade Japanese matcha, custom blended from Japan's top tea-growing regions: Uji, Wazuka, Yame, Shizuoka and Kagoshima. The Reserve blend changes with each harvest. You can expect the same blend for 3 to 6 months before it refreshes.
How much caffeine is in LAKA Matcha?
A standard 1 gram serving contains roughly 35 mg of caffeine, and our suggested 2 gram cup has about 70 mg. Each gram also contains about 35 mg of L-theanine, a naturally occurring amino acid, so many people describe the energy as steady and smooth rather than jittery.
How do I make LAKA Matcha?
A standard serving is 1 gram (about ½ teaspoon), but we suggest 2 grams (about 1 teaspoon) for a bolder, richer cup. Sift it into a bowl, add a splash of hot water that is not boiling, and whisk until frothy. Top with more water or your milk of choice for a latte. The 30g pouch makes 30 standard servings, and the 100g pouch makes 100.
Which size should I choose, 30g or 100g?
The 30g pouch ($44) is a lower upfront commitment for trying LAKA or taking it on the go. The 100g pouch ($138) is our best value for a daily ritual, at about $1.38 per gram compared with $1.47 per gram for the 30g.

How should I store my matcha?
Keep it airtight, cool and away from light. For the best flavor, move it into the LAKA Tin, an airtight stainless steel tin with a built-in sifter, and keep it in the fridge. Let it come to room temperature before you prepare it.
